In 2016 I had the opportunity to speak at TEDx Totnes. In my speech, I discussed the danger behind judging myself based on what I do, rather than who I am. At my worst, "I was a human doing, not a human being."
Today, I believe that choosing what we do is a way of expressing who we are. I've found a new perspective on the positvism of being a human being, doing. It's like painting a picture: we use tools (paint, brushes, paper // money, the body, relationships) to express what we are (our mantra // our human being). When you think about life in that way, it becomes a series of uncanny delights, some more unfortunate than others.
I recently heard a popular term: "multi-passionate entrepreneur." It basically means, "I pursue many interests and some of them make money." That totally described me. So, when asked, "What are you doing for money?" I sometimes have difficulty answering.
Mostly, I am writing and helping people move. Mostly.
This website is an expression of a human doing. It's like a portfolio, stacking a pile of paint in front of someone in hopes that they'll paint a picture with me. I hope that you will feel curious and inspired. I hope that you will find the information you need to hire me, take one of my classes, befriend me, or tell me something very wise. I hope it makes you ask yourself,
Are you doing what expresses your human being?
